FREE Contemporary Dance Intensive and Performance Opportunity with National Dance Company Wales. Call out for East Midlands based dancers and performers aged 50+ yrs

Deda and Derby Theatre in partnership with National Dance Company Wales are offering performers aged +50yrs a unique and exciting opportunity. Participants will work with NDCWales Dance Ambassadors Jo Petch for a 2 day intensive, to create an exciting performance which will be shown as a curtain raiser before NDCWales present their triple bill One Another at Derby Theatre on Thursday 3th March 2022.

Dancers will take part in a creative workshop in contemporary dance to explore the themes and processes of NDCWales work. This intensive will explore creative tasks used by Choreographer Carolin Finn to devlop the choreographic material for Ludo. Participants will learn sections of repertoire and then be encouraged to develop these using tasks and choreographic devices, building material to create a final dance for screne piece which will be shown prior to the evening performance at the theatre.

Key Dates

Workshop Intensive: Thursday 13^th and Friday 14^th Jan 9-5 pm at Deda, Derby

Screening: At the theatre 7pm, then watching the main show at 7:30pm at Derby Theatre, Derby.

NB* Please be aware that all participants must purchase a ticket for the evening performance at a special discounted price of £8. (We also encourage you to engage friends and family to attend to watch the screening premier and the main performance of One Another)

This fantastic opportunity is FREE and limited to 16 participants. We are looking for people with some experience or interest in Contemporary Dance who wish to develop their skills and knowledge further by taking part in this exciting opportunity.
