Season’s Greetings!
We made it, sort of, to the end of the year. Safe, intact, open and ready for the future….
Like most of you we’ve experienced a great many ups and downs thanks to the pandemic – closed for much of the first half of the year we emerged into the sunlight determined to bring dance and movement back into peoples lives. Our classes, blooming like flowers, have slowly started to fill again. People are beginning to return to their lives and loves, knowing that dance is a part of the rhythm of a life lived well.
We have refreshed our building with new signage and a beautiful mural. We brought art and culture to the streets with our new “Altered Streets” project and the return of Derby Festé, bringing the dance to you. You’ll be seeing a lot more of Déda out and about in the coming months and years as we strive to be part of your lives and this city - To See Better Days….
I’m so proud of everyone here at Déda – for their continued commitment and professionalism in the face of unbelievable difficulties.
And while we take a well-earned rest over the holiday period, we do so knowing that we are on a journey, one that will sometimes be challenging, but in meeting these challenges we become stronger and more resilient, creative and imaginative.
We invite you to join us on this journey, to dance along the trail with us and discover something about yourself in the process….
Here’s to the journey ahead, one we will share together!
Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year from everyone at Déda.
Steve Slater, Director
