Déda has been working closely with partners in Derby’s Cultural Education Partnership to put on the Reimagine Festival, which takes place on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th July 2022.
Young people aged 8 – 18 from across Derby have been involved in the design of the festival and will be presenting a range of artworks, films, processions, performances and workshops as part of a two-day city centre celebration of creativity.
Déda has been working with children and young people from Derwent and Chaddesden over the past year to develop their skills and knowledge in performing arts and theatre making.
Young People from two schools will be showcasing their work at the festival, which takes place at The Tramshed (accessed from The Strand) and Museum Square (accessed from Friar Gate). These are The United Squad from Da Vinci Academy, who will be presenting a film which has been made with Artists Simon Marshall, Philly Rule and Devon Madden. Along with Derwent Primary, whose year 3 and 6 children have co-created a dance piece with Katherine Simpson and Philly Rule and will be taking the stage at 2pm and 3.30pm on Saturday 23rd July to showcase it. (Please check for performance locations as they may change due weather).
The two-day festival is free to attend and welcomes children, young people and families to come along and celebrate with us.
