Award-winning choreographic and talent development programme, Xzibit Young Creatives, is back for 2022 and is coming to Derby!
Xzibit will be holding an intensive from Monday 15th to Friday 19th August at Déda. The project’s daily times will be 9:30am - 4:30pm, including a sharing for family and friends on the last day. This intensive is a free opportunity for young people aged 11-19 years with some dance experience.
Xzibit Young Creatives is an artist-led hip hop dance theatre project that focuses on developing the young dance creatives of the future through an intensive choreographic mentoring programme. Xzibit offers mentoring from internationally renowned choreographers, some of the UK’s most respected Hip Hop innovators and is designed to provide opportunities for the young people involved to present their own work to live audiences in professional venues.
Xzibit participants will be able to build new connections with other young choreographers and dancers in their area. The creative environment will encourage the young people to motivate one another when overcoming obstacles in the choreographic process. The project will allow the young people to explore and develop their artistry, choreography skills and hip hop dance knowledge. Their creativity will be challenged and pushed to new levels.
