Alice is passionate about making arts and culture democratic and has worked tirelessly through her paid and voluntary roles to make our sector more representative. Alice joined our board in February 2022 and is working with Trustees and management to develop Déda into a cultural centre of and for the people of Derby.
Alice is currently a Volunteering and Community Business Partner in the National Trust, leading for Community and Volunteering in the Midlands and East of England Region. She supports 37 properties (hosting approx. 15,000 volunteers) with developing their community and volunteering ambitions, to deliver property business plans. Alice supports a number of community engagement projects including the Children’s Country House at Sudbury, a new nature reserve near Skegness, and creation of a centre for people living with dementia in Wisbech.
Previous roles included Development Producer at the National Videogame Museum leading on community engagement and partnerships, as well as having worked on Nottingham’s bid to become European Capital of Culture and at Nottingham Lakeside Arts.
